CLOSE-UP DETAIL " SLAIN FOR US" The scroll laying diagonal across the middle of the cross contains scripture from Isaiah 53: 1-12 which is the prophecy of the birth, life and death of Jesus Christ the Messiah. On the top row of the piece, next to the cross there is one little white scroll. This contains the scripture from John 17: 20-26 where Jesus prays for us…for all believers.
