I LOVE A CHALLENGE!

One of my subscribers to my You Tube Channel watched my video on Gelli Printing and asked me what I thought it would do on fabric......well......that's all I needed :)

SO..........................

This is the fabric I choose. this is the way it comes straight off the shelf.

 Painted the Gelli Plate with some turquoise and yellow (this image is a little dark. Colors in next photo are true)

Scraped through the paint with a scraper I had. 

And.....Ta ta!!....the finished piece!! I LOVE IT!! going to be doing more of this! Thanks "symphonie gee". Good call!!

GELLI PRINTING AGAIN!!

I just can't get enough of this Gelli Printing!!

I discover something new each time I go after it and the thing is I never know what is going to happen. That's what I love! So here is a new batch. I made a video of these for You tube, but haven't finished producing it yet. STUDIO WORKSHOP DAY

Fun time was had by all today in my Studio workshop!! I had Denise and Fran in and we just played and played and got paint everywhere! The fav thing was making fabric paper (one of my favs too!!) Here are some pics of the day.

STUDIO TIME WITH MY GRAND DAUGHTER

Got to spend time in my Studio today with my 13 year old grand daughter. Look at her Gelli Prints!!

 I LOVE THEM!! And especially the one below! Metallics on black paper. BEAUTIFUL......

And did I mention how creative she is? (And before you say anything...she is my step grand daughter, so I can't take credit)

She took this little bottle I gave her and rolled up little balls of clay and stuck blades of grass in the balls.

Is that not adorable!!!

SEWING PAPERS

Do you ever get to wondering what to do with all those scrap pieces of paper that you have left from your art?

I don't know about you but I have boxes full...all different sizes and shapes!

SO......SEW!!

And Layer.....

Get out your sewing machine and just start sewing all those little scraps together and when you get that done, start layering on those little bitty scraps and funky shaped scraps and just have a good time.

Next thing you know you have a big piece of paper and scraps all gone!!

Now have fun doing something with this new piece of paper.

MY SURPRISE AND MORE GELLI PRINTS

NOW you have to understand that for me to get 20 hits on my blog in a day is just great! I'm not one of these new young and up coming artists that have MONSTER followers....I'm just a "little old lady" doing her art and having fun...SO imagine my surprise when I checked today and found that 216 people had been on my blog and 193 of them were on the Gelli Plate post!! I could not figure out what happened....I had not even put it out on Pinterest! So I began investigating and what I found was that "Gelli Arts" had picked it up and posted it on their Pinterest Board!! Well...considering I have 192 followers on Pinterest and they have 1181....well, you do the math. Anyway....I am grateful!! It really was a nice surprise. No one ever pins my work off of my pages except me!! I wasn't use to that. SO...I did some more Gelli printing today. I have students coming in the studio Monday and I'm getting ready!!

This is a piece I did a couple of years ago. It's made with rolled fabric and paper. I just loved making this and want to do some more at some time. CLOSE-UP DETAIL " SLAIN FOR US" The scroll laying diagonal across the middle of the cross contains scripture from Isaiah 53: 1-12 which is the prophecy of the birth, life and death of Jesus Christ the Messiah. On the top row of the piece, next to the cross there is one little white scroll. This contains the scripture from John 17: 20-26 where Jesus prays for us…for all believers.

MONO PRINTING ON INTERFACING

Looking around in my studio "stash" I found a large piece of interfacing I have evidently had for some time. It is a thin fibrous material much like tissue paper, but stronger. I did some mono printing on it and this is the result! LOVE it!! It's fabric, so you can't tear...have to cut....but I love the results! You can use it like you would use tissue paper in your work.

Oh WHERE has this been all my life!! One of my students put me onto this prize and I got it in the mail yesterday. These are my first "offerings" from Gelli Plate Playtime.
