THE JOURNEY - Journals by Suzi

Finally getting pictures made of my Journals I'm making. Hope to have them up on my site soon for sale but wanted to give you a preview. I have shown a few inside pages but impossible to show all. Each one is filled with fun and unique pages. Some for writing and/or drawing on, some for gluing or taping things on, some to store things in, some just to look at and enjoy. Surprises in each one!!
They are all called "The Journey" and on the back page I have written "Life is a journey....Embrace it"
I've made these in memory of my daughter Shari who loved to journal.
Hope you enjoy looking as much as I enjoyed making!!

This one is deliciously thick!! Approximately 70 fun pages!!

This one is approximately 48 pages. Again...all uniquely different

JOURNALS

I seem to be okay with making journals. LOTS of journals. I don't have a desire to paint yet or create 2D works of art, but I can get lost in making the journals. Besides, I have TONS of paper....painted papers, fabric papers, scrap papers, printed papers, wall paper and on and on and this is a great way to use that stuff up. My idea right now is to purge all the stuff I have and then see where I am. Either move on with new art or stop all together. I have no idea....so, for now.....journals!
Covers made from fabric paper, art board, old book covers, whatever I have.

All kinds of interesting pages inside!!

THE ROCK

"A time to morn, A time to weep, A time to Dance" - Ecclesiastes

On March 11, 2013, my world came to a screeching halt when my precious daughter, Shari, passed unexpectedly from this world to be with Our Heavenly Father. She was 47 years old. The light of my life.

My son-in-law is disabled and lives 8 hours away and his family is in another country so we are having to take care of him. He's a delight and I don't mind.

My life has changed forever. Art? It's not in me at this time...I'm enjoying making journals but that is about it.

My husband called me one day while I was gone taking care of my son-in-law....he said "How long has this rock been here?" I assured him I had no idea what he was talking about, so he advised me that he had just seen it at the base of a huge Oak Tree we are around frequently. Above is the rock....no one has come forward to claim the deed....
I know who did it though......Shari's Angel.

Peace. And by the way....Yes, they spelled Mourn "Morn"

BROKEN

Going to be out for awhile. Mourning the loss of my precious daughter. I think I'll be back some day but can't feel it right now. Thank you all for your support.

PAPER TOWEL AND TISSUE PAPER

I'm putting together a new workshop on making and using fabric paper so while I was cleaning up yesterday I had a sheet of paper towel and several scraps of tissue paper. Decided to put it together just like I would do fabric paper and this is the result.
I like :) I will probably be making more of this!

RECENT PAINTED PAPERS

IF you have seen my You Tube Video on Painting Papers you will see that I cover a 24"x18" (approx) board with paper and that is what I use to paint on and/or roll my brayer on, etc. Then when it fills up with paint, I add to it to make it interesting.
These are some of the ones I have done lately.
 4 together above

This is the one I demonstrated on You Tube

The one above I did today. I masked the areas I wanted to leave with masking tape, then pulled the tape off and rescued it for paper tape!! (below)
It made me a big ole fat roll of paper tape!!
If interested in my method of making paper tape, I have a short little workshop on it. Just click here:
I <3 PAPER TAPE!!

FABRIC PAPER JOURNAL

IN my workshops we make fabric paper. I love fabric paper, but had accumulated several pieces from demos, SO...decided the best thing to do is make a journal of fabric paper.
Love the way it turned out.

I LOVE A CHALLENGE!

One of my subscribers to my You Tube Channel watched my video on Gelli Printing and asked me what I thought it would do on fabric......well......that's all I needed :)
SO..........................
This is the fabric I choose. this is the way it comes straight off the shelf.
Painted the Gelli Plate with some turquoise and yellow (this image is a little dark. Colors in next photo are true)
Scraped through the paint with a scraper I had.
And.....Ta ta!!....the finished piece!! I LOVE IT!! going to be doing more of this! Thanks "symphonie gee". Good call!!
