ANOTHER TRANSFORMATION

Ever once in awhile, I just get to looking at a painting of mine and feel it's just not quite right.
That's what happened with a piece I did last year called "Glory"

It's not that I didn't like the piece because I did, but something was nagging me about it.
When I originally created the piece I was trying to convey a beautiful cluster of tulips growing wild in deep woods somewhere where there was darkness and the flowers were to represent the Light in the dark, the Glory of God.
But....the more I looked at it the more I felt the title "Glory" and the painting just didn't match...there was a "clash" there for me.
Now I can hear you..."wouldn't it be easier to change the title?"
Well, yes....but "Glory" was the right name...
So...I needed to change the image to project that title.
So here is the new image

So tell me what you think.
It's staying as is but I like to hear from you and
get your take on it.

Thanks for stopping by,
Suzi

  3. I love it Suzi. That light color really lets the trees and flowers shine in their gloriousness (not sure that's a word).

  4. I love the light you added to it. Really changed the whole mood. Both versions are beautiful but the changes are really a great addition.

  5. Yes, I think the lighter background was the right answer. Glorious!

  6. I like the new version, but then, I.d lighten a little the trees, too, to make the contrast softer.

  9. Like them both but the white background really makes the colors pop. Don't know if you ever have done a series but I could see one with a sunrise or sunset behind the trees too. Regardless, they are lovely.

    1. Susan, I have done several trees, woods pieces with moon and sun. Check out some of my other blogs on here and you can also see them on my website at www.suzisart.blogspot.com

  10. Oh, Lovely! The lighter background makes the flowers stand out, and the light makes me think of the Glory of God shining down through the darkness. Very dramatic.
