TIME TO COLOR

Well, I have to confess.....
when the coloring books for adults came out I thought "ho-hum".
In my mind it stopped creativity and that is what I try to teach...being creative...using your imagination.
But then...........

You see, I am in a grief group for parents who have lost children.
Member of a club I NEVER wanted to be in,
But,
I am here
and what started happening was me seeing these women loving the adult coloring books as stress relievers.
Duh....
How selfish was I being!! I am SO BLESSED to have had my art to help me through this horrible journey I am on, to help me struggle down that overgrown path full of doubt, fear and pain.

SO,
I'm in my studio...creating a coloring book for those who don't care about being creative...just care about surviving horrible ordeals in their life and need a place to escape.

It's in progress....You will be the first to know :)

Blessings,
Suzi

  2. Suzi, I am so excited to see what you put together. Having "colored" for many hours with my teenage, bipolar granddaughter who lives with me and watching her visibly relax, I know from experience how soothing it can be for both of us. Kudos to you. Thank you.

    1. Thanks for that Artinmyhearttoo. That is good to hear...I am learning a lesson here. I told someone else that what is funny is that I am finding it very relaxing and stress free for me to be able to draw these up without worrying about color!! lol!! Works both ways :)

  5. I love it when the light bulb goes on! I sort of feel the same way about the color books, but it's nice to know that to everything there is a purpose :-)

  6. Wow!!! This might be a good idea for my sister who has dementia. Where can I get the adult coloring books? It would give her something to do in her long uneventful days.
